Page Hotels’ first UK property, Page8, opened four years ago and still feels like something of a hidden gem. Once home to the Post Office and Redwood Publishing, this concrete industrial-accented building now houses a modern hotel right in the heart of the West End, surrounded by theatres, bars, clubs, shops, cafes, pubs, and galleries. Leicester Square, Soho and Covent Garden are just round the corner.
Statuettes of lions, which staff give you when you order breakfast, and door-knocker lions attached to every room reference Edward Landseer’s sculptures in Trafalgar Square which is right opposite the entrance to the hotel.

From its name all the way down to the lobby design, which combines the check-in counter with an artisanal café, Page8 offers a pleasing respite from the bustle of the city. Natural light is key, with each room boasting large windows overlooking some of central London’s most iconic landmarks, including the London Eye, the Colosseum Theatre, and even spanning across to Battersea Power Station.
Despite its prime location, Page8 is surprisingly quiet. All 138 rooms are perfectly sound-insulated, so even the front-facing accommodations block the noise from the street. You will surely fall asleep with London at your feet.
Modern simplicity

The interior is minimalist and practical yet stylish, with a sophisticated palette of royal blue and brushed bronze, stylish materials of brushed metal, timber and textured leather, and industrial details like studded furniture and wall panels. All rooms come with a Marshall Bluetooth speaker, vintage-look bedside telephone and even an air purifier.
Instead of switches, there are touch panels that control the lights and automatic opening blinds. The spacious marble-finished bathrooms have large walk-in showers. Guests are given complimentary robes and slippers to don during their stay.
Minibar contents are free and replenished daily – they start with water, milk, and crisps for the entry-level rooms and work up to free wine and Champagne in the suites. The hotel offers its own blend of Good & Proper tea and coffee, which you can enjoy in your room.
Coffee with a view

Speaking of coffee, Page8 is also home to some of the best cafes in London. The coffee here is a caffeine connoisseur’s dream: strong, smooth, high quality espresso.
The counter is packed with tasty cakes, pastries, and hot options on sourdough and bagels. Grab a table inside or outside and watch double-decker buses drive past the National Portrait Gallery. It’s truly remarkable to be in such a prime spot!
Page8 is located at 8 St. Martin’s Pl, London WC2N 4JH. More information can be found here.
