There’s been a lot of talk about quiet luxury lately, but Hôtel Marignan actually feels like it. Like a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered, this discreet boutique establishment is tucked away on the sleepy rue de Marignan, just steps from the main thoroughfare of the Champs-Élysées. Heavy golden glass doors mark the entrance, hinting at the exclusivity that lies within.
Historic grandeur with contemporary flair

The building dates back to the 19th century, when it was originally a private residence by the Marignan Family. A reminder of it is an immaculately preserved stunning wooden staircase inscribed with the words “May this house be filled with real friends”. It was put there by a resident in the 1800s whose wife left him for his best friend.
After World War I, it became the embassy of Poland before being converted into the luxe Élysées Palace Hotel in 1925. The current owner and CEO of the hotel Natalie Richard converted it into a masterpiece of contemporary style.
Its façade is now a monolith of muted black stone on the first two floors with a glass canopy over the entrance. The upper floors are a more classic white-stone, Art-Deco style in keeping with the hotel’s distinguished past.
Interiors with a sense of humour and artistry

There’s splashes of creativity and a lot of attention to detail when it comes to the interiors. From funny portraits of the imaginary Marignan family (creation of the French brand Gangzai) that greet guests on each floor, to a whimsical sheep-shaped chair next to the reception — unexpected touches that spark conversation and smiles.
They are 45 rooms, and 5 suites – each one a different tier. All are simply but stylishly decorated with pale wood, crisp white linen, and carefully chosen art that adds a touch of class without feeling imposing. The light airy rooms and the large, comfortable beds mean a restful night’s sleep is a certainty.
Flowers, cakes and wine

Upon arrival, expect fresh flowers, delicate canelés, a bottle of wine and personalised note from the general manager — setting the tone for a memorable stay. Some suites feature expansive balconies with breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower. The highlight – best enjoyed in the comfort of a hotel robe and slippers – is a glass of wine on the balcony, giving the heady impression that Paris belongs to you.
The monochromatic bathrooms are kitted out with Codage amenities and have a large bath and walk-in shower. Heated floors are another nice touch. This is a calm space to recharge at night – complete with soft slippers, bathrobes and turndown service. And it wouldn’t be a proper Parisian hotel if it had a Nespresso machine. At Hôtel Marignan morning coffee is served from a French Cafés Richard Paris machine.
Dining with glamour and nature

Breakfast is served at the beautiful Ma Dame, Marignan’s restaurant offering a stylish interior and al fresco dining on the charming terrace. The décor is designed by architect Carole Pfeiffer and is inspired by the undergrowth, plants and dried flowers. Think rustic wood, warm colours, a harmonious blend of contemporary decor and noble materials.
The breakfast buffet offers a variety of hot options, juices and freshly baked pastries. Made-to-order options include Eggs Benedict and Omlettes. For lunches and dinners discover the gourmet cuisine orchestrated by the talented chef Makoto Nakada. The menu changes with the seasons and revisits the traditional dishes of French gastronomy.
Next to the restaurant is the bar with dim lighting and tranquil atmosphere, perfect for a romantic tête-à-tête. It’s a great vibe, not at all pretentious despite being spoilt for choice in terms of dining and cultural offerings. For example, prestigious avenue Montaigne is less than a five minute walk away if you fancy visiting the Dior or Prada boutiques. The Arc de Triomphe, Grand Palais and other historic sights are also within a stone’s throw from the hotel.
Private cinema

To elevate the experience further, Hôtel Marignan comes with a private cinema. For an intimate cinematic experience, guests can arrange their own personal film screenings that can accommodate to 50 people.
Rarely seen in hotels, even luxury hotels, this sense of exclusivity really adds to the VIP experience. The perfect way to unwind after a long day exploring the city, enjoying the sights and shopping. On l’adore!
